Maria Kabara
Born in Lattakia, Syria. She studied theology in Lebanon and Thessalonica. She holds a master's degree from the University of Balamand - Lebanon in Theology (2016). Candidate for a PhD in Theology from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in the Department of Sociology. Her theological and historical research in Arabic deals with the role and position of women in the Orthodox Church and the rest of the churches and the contemporary world, while her social related articles deal with discriminatory laws in personal status in Syria. She contributes to a number of Syrian and Lebanese electronic newspapers ​and magazines. She has a number of books translated into Arabic.  She is a researcher and theological lecture. Her interests include painting and Byzantine music as well as travel.​​
